The Madras High Court has stayed the declaration of NEET UG Entrance Examination 2025 results after hearing petitions filed by 13 students who claimed that power failure at the Avadi center near Chennai disrupted their NEET 2025 exam.
Justice V. Lakshminarayanan passed an interim order on May 16, 2025, directing the National Testing Agency (NTA) not to publish the results of the NEET 2025 Exam till further notice.

However, the Madhya Pradesh High Court modified the previous order and allowed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to declare the NEET exam 2025 results of all candidates except the affected candidates of the Indore center. During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that the order to stay the NEET UG Exam Results 2025 for the affected candidates of 11 centers in Indore was unnecessary.
Justice Subodh Abhyankar, judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, directed that the NEET Undergraduate Exam 2025 results be declared for all centers except for candidates from 11 Indore centers. The NTA (National Testing Agency) has been asked to submit a detailed report identifying the NEET UG 2025 exam centers affected by the power failure. The next date of hearing for this case is May 19, 2025.
The court has asked the National Testing Agency to file its reply by June 2, 2025. The decision has created anxiety among candidates awaiting their NEET 2025 exam results for admission and further academic plans.
Despite the court’s stay, the NTA has tentatively scheduled the declaration of the NEET UG examination 2025 results on June 14, 2025. However, this result declaration date is subject to revision depending on the outcome of the legal proceedings.
The NEET UG Entrance Examination for session 2025 was conducted on May 4, 2025 from 2 pm to 5 pm in 566 cities across India and abroad. The provisional answer key of the NEET UG Exam 2025 is expected to be released by the NTA by the fourth week of May 2025, after which the objection window will be opened for three to four days.
