Revised Examination Schedule of NEET PG 2025: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially released the Revised Examination Schedule for NEET-PG 2025, confirming that the NEET Postgraduate entrance exam will now be conducted in a single shift on August 3, 2025. The decision has been taken following the direction of the Supreme Court of India, which mandated the change to ensure transparency and fairness in the high-stakes NEET UG 2025 medical entrance exam.
To accommodate all candidates in one shift, more exam cities for the NEET Postgraduate 2025 exam will be added. All applicants of NEET PG 2025 will have to re-select their preferred exam city, irrespective of what they have selected earlier. The application window for selecting the exam city for NEET PG 2025 will open on June 13, 2025 (3 pm) and close on June 17, 2025 (11:55 pm).
NEET PG 2025 exam was earlier scheduled to be held on 15 June 2025 but now the National Testing Agency will conduct the NEET PG 2025 exam on 3 August 2025.

Why was NEET-PG 2025 postponed?
The NEET Postgraduate national level entrance exam, originally scheduled for June 15, 2025, was postponed by the Supreme Court after it struck down NBEMS’ plan to conduct the exam in two shifts. The apex court termed the two-shift proposal as “arbitrary” and underlined that NEET PG Exam question papers in different shifts can never be of equal difficulty, potentially putting some candidates at a disadvantage.
A bench led by Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Augustine George Masih directed NBEMS to ensure a level playing field by holding the exam in one shift only. Despite the NBEMS citing infrastructural and logistical challenges, like the need for 900 additional test centers, Wi-Fi, and computer security, the court remained firm, stating that a technologically capable country like India must be able to accommodate such demands.
